YETI Ice Block 2 lb: plan the cooler around it

Measure the packed cooler

The 2-pound block measures 8 by 5.4 by 1.6 inches. Sketch that footprint inside your cooler before deciding how many to buy, leaving room for the contents and regular ice. YETI’s guide pairs different coolers with different block sizes and quantities; a larger pack name does not establish a better fit. This is an ice supplement, so include loose ice in the plan.

The details that matter

Check both the block footprint and the space needed for food, drinks and loose ice. YETI’s compatibility guide recommends different sizes and quantities for different coolers. This pack is meant to supplement ice; it does not establish a universal cooling duration or a safe food-holding time.

What stands out

• A sealed reusable block can be returned to the freezer without loose meltwater from the pack itself.
• Published dimensions and a cooler guide make fit easier to check.

Where to pause

• Adds two pounds and occupies cooler space.
• It is an ice supplement, so planning to omit loose ice is outside the stated role.

Make the decision

Lay out the cooler with food, drinks, loose ice and the rigid block in place. Compare footprint and quantity using the cooler guide, then account for freezer space. This block supplements ice; it does not settle a safe food-holding time.
